There has been some confusion between BMRB Accession numbers and BMRB Deposition codes. Since the introduction of NMR-DEP, new entries were assigned a deposition code to facilitate the authors' and annotators' ability to maintain and track it until its release. It is not assigned an actual accession number until after it has been released to the public.
There have been instances where literature refered to an entry's deposition code instead of its accession number. If you have entered a BMRB reference number but did not find the entry you were expecting, try referencing it by its deposition code.
An accession number will consist only of numeric digits. For example, 4820. A deposition code will have an additional bmr or BMRB prefix such as BMRB-8116 or bmr0Q0S2U0.
